Common questions, quick answers

Internships are posted in the Fall and applicants are encouraged to apply early for consideration. Co-ops are posted year-round. Please check the Kairos Power Careers page regularly for co-op opportunities.

Internships start in May or June, depending on the intern’s academic schedule. Start dates for co-ops depend on academic schedule and business needs.

Internships typically span 12 weeks and have a minimum commitment of 10 weeks to ensure you get the most out of your internship experience at Kairos Power. The duration of co-ops will vary based on co-op availability and business needs.

Students who are currently enrolled in a degree-granting academic program are eligible to apply. Specialized roles will require completion of specific coursework to be considered.

Kairos Power is subject to 10 CFR Part 810 Assistance to Foreign Atomic Energy activities. We are open to providing employment sponsorship for specific roles to foreign nationals from generally authorized destinations.

All our internships and co-ops are paid. We do not currently offer unpaid internships and co-ops. Rate of pay will differ based on education level, location, and job function.

Kairos Power will provide a relocation stipend to interns or co-ops based on eligibility. Per IRS relocation guidelines, the college and residence of interns and co-ops must be greater than 50 miles from the designated work location.

Alameda, California (Kairos Power Headquarters). Albuquerque, New Mexico (Manufacturing Development Campus). Limited and specific openings are available in Charlotte, North Carolina; Rexford, New York; and remotely.

You can expect to hear back from our recruitment team within 2-4 weeks after submitting your application. If you do not hear back from us before 4 weeks, you are still in consideration.

Our hiring process

We approach hiring the same way we approach everything else. Interviewing at Kairos Power reflects the collaborative, people-centered culture at our core, built around real conversations and real progress. To be considered, all candidates must submit an application online. Our recruiting team reviews every application and will reach out to schedule an initial Zoom interview if there’s a potential match. Candidate profiles are then shared with hiring managers for consideration, with additional interviews scheduled for those continuing on in the process.
