Kairos Power has received ISO 9001:2015 certification for its manufacturing operations in Alameda, California.
The achievement builds on a previous ISO 9001:2015 certification earned last year by the company’s Manufacturing Development Campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and demonstrates Kairos Power’s commitment to delivering high-quality components for its advanced reactors.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognized standard for quality management and provides a broad framework for best manufacturing practices.
Kairos Power pursued ISO 9001 to enhance its Quality Management System and establish a continuous improvement program. This approach enables the company to reduce hardware delivery risk while increasing quality rigor in advance of future nuclear requirements.
Developing the ISO 9001 program involved training and qualifying Kairos Power employees as internal auditors, who perform regular audits of the company’s processes to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Manufacturing operations in Albuquerque and Alameda are similar, with Alameda placing a greater emphasis on test skid and research and development work, while our Albuquerque facility supports a larger team for large-scale component manufacturing.
Both facilities are working not only to expand their manufacturing capabilities, but also to scale quality alongside production to support repeatable, high-quality manufacturing.
The Alameda certification audit concluded with zero findings – a rare accomplishment that reflects the rigor of Kairos Power’s processes and ability to reliably deliver high-quality components.

“This is an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to the incredible hard work, discipline, and commitment that went into preparing for the audit,” said Craig Gerardi, Vice President of Manufacturing at Kairos Power. “Earning ISO 9001 certification demonstrates more than compliance with a standard. It reflects disciplined processes, consistent execution, and the manufacturing team’s dedication to doing the right work the right way every time. Quality is not simply a requirement, it is a core part of how we operate.”
“ISO 9001 certification is an important achievement because it establishes a baseline framework for normal operations. Kairos Power can supplement ISO 9001 with additional requirements for more rigorous builds that include nuclear safety-related components,” said Craig Mayberry, Director of Manufacturing Planning and Quality Control. “This layered approach to quality assurance, in which multiple quality programs can be invoked on a single piece of hardware, builds confidence in our processes as we move toward manufacturing reactor systems.”

As Kairos Power continues to scale its operations and move toward commercial deployment, keeping quality at the forefront is helping build a culture of accountability, consistency, and confidence in the company’s systems, products, and team.
